    Anger Management Trainer/Specialist 40 Hour Certificate Course with Adult and Teen Curriculum

    The leading anger management organizations are now recommending that all anger management trainers, educators and facilitators be required to complete *40 hours of anger management education and training certification. Includes almost 8 hours of the live Trainer Workshop DVDs with James Bedell, PsyD., Lynette Hoy, NCC, LCPC and Steve Yeschek, LCSW along with hand-outs. DVD presentations cover: Overview of anger issues, research-based strategies, handling difficult situations and behavior, training and assessment tools, mental health disorders, stress management, cognitive distortions, ethics, research, marketing and planning groups/classes, motivating and more!.


    What will you get from this program?

    You will receive a more in-depth understanding of the causes of anger, training skills, assessment tools to help adults and teens manage anger, foundational insights and skills for teaching anger, stress and conflict management. The 40 hour Anger Management Training certificate of completion is awarded after successful completion of quizzes in part one, exam in part two and evaluation.
    Our programs (live workshops & distance-learning courses) are approved and endorsed by the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) meeting their standards for anger management programming. Certified Trainers of the distance-learning programs then qualify to become members of the NAMA and receive the designation of Anger Management Specialist-1 or II (licensed professionals or certified addictions counselors qualify for specialist-II) after 4 (30 min) phone training sessions (included with this program) with Lynette Hoy or Steve Yeschek, NAMA Supervisors (additional NAMA membership fee of $125.00 or $150.00 required). Part one of course provides:15 - NBCC CE hours, ACEP #6577 (accepted by NAADAC); and 12 CEUs (extra fee) by IAODAPCA - program # 12183 for: Counselor II, Preventionist II, CARS II, MISA I or II, CCJP II, PCGC II, CRSS I or II, MAATP II, CFPP II.     This curriculum includes 2 Trainer's manuals, What's Good About Anger? fourth edition book, adult and teen leader's guides, assessment tools, adult and teen power point presentations and DVD tools for student/group/client presentations.

    This new training program includes the What's Good About Anger? 2016 edition book, teaching points and insights on anger and stress management, assertiveness, conflict management, emotional intelligence, empathy skills, spiritual examples and other helpful resources/interventions. Tools included: CD with power point presentation; DVD (65 min); anger management evaluation, assessments, progress report and inventories!

    The second manual includes: Issues and Strategies for Helping Teens Manage Anger Effectively. This part of the course covers basic strategies and understanding of anger management plus how to apply the best strategies for managing anger to adolescents. Provides: 15 - NBCC CE hours, ACEP #6577.

    The purpose of this course is to assist Anger Management Providers/Specialists with: an understanding of the overall concepts of anger and strategies for anger management plus the core issues which hinder anger control in teens; assessment tools for assessing teens and knowing when to refer; initial steps in treatment planning for teens with anger control problems.

    Examine core issues in the physiology of teen anger control issues.

    Identify the unique vulnerabilities that the under developed brain has as it pertains to anger modulating capacities.

Once both parts of course are completed -- participants receive the 40-hour certificate of completion in Anger Management. CEU certificate included.

    DVD Training: Almost 8 hours of the live workshop Anger Management Training with NAMA approved Anger Management Supervisors, Consultants, Diplomates & Certified Anger Management Specialist-IV: James Bedell, PsyD, Steve Yeschek, LCSW and Lynette Hoy, NCC, LCPC. The Trainer's course and DVDs are based on the 2012 What's Good About Anger? Putting Your Anger to Work for Good book and Trainer's manuals and Dr. Gary Gintner's Behavioral Anger Reduction Kit.

    ·  Session One: Overview of the problem of anger, manifestations and triggers, the physiology of anger, when anger is harmful or helpful. Read chapters 1-3 in the book and lessons one-two in the Trainer's manual. Stress management and relaxation techniques. Cognitive distortions and restructured thinking skills.

    ·  Session Two: Teaching effective anger control strategies and motivating clients/students: communication, time-out and problem- solving skills, conflict management, developing a forgiveness process. Managing behavior and defusing hostility- dealing with difficult behavior and hostility styles in treatment of individuals and groups. Overview of emotional intelligence and developing empathy.

    ·  Session Three: Overview of What's Good About Anger - Trainer's manual: anger management group and individual pre-assessment inventories, anger survey, evaluation and progress tools. Ethical guidelines for trainers. Code of ethics hand-out. Assessment and referral for major mental health disorders (DSM V) associated with anger problems. Contraindications: determining when participants/clients not appropriate for anger management treatment.

    ·  Session Four: Research in anger management. Planning and marketing anger management programs. Overview of anger management coaching theory and skills.

    *Participants will receive Certification as an Anger Management Specialist-I or II with the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) after successful completion of 11 quizzes and evaluation found in Training Manual Part One; phone supervision and then, joining NAMA ($125.00 or $150.00 membership fee additional). Participants will receive a 40 hour Certificate of Completion when both parts of the course are completed: 11 quizzes, evaluation; part two exam through the Anger Management Institute. Part One provides:15 NBCC CE hours, ACEP #6577 (accepted by NAADAC) and 12 CEUs by IAODAPCA - program # 10719. Part Two is approved for 12 NBCC CEs. Pay extra fees above. Live 2-day Anger Management Trainer-Specialist certification workshops provides: 12 NBCC CE hours, ACEP #6577, accepted by NAADAC and 12 NASW CEUs and 13 CEUs by IAODAPCA and NAMA.
